All for Education is a Non-profit* Organization that Provides Educational Resources from Academia and the Community to Everyone.

The Short Version About Us

On this website you can find educational resources for a specific location (currently, resources in Tucson, AZ, and also online resources), and you can advertise your project or resources for free. The goal is to make educational resources easily available and to encourage the community to use, add and update these resources.

The Long Version About Us

The University of Arizona and hundreds of other organizations offer superb educational resources. Unfortunately, many students, teachers and parents are not informed of the numerous opportunities available to them. The information about these opportunities is spread over thousands of web pages. It is infeasible for one or even several people to collect, keep track of and update these events. To provide better access to this information we need a central database that is simple to use and can be updated by the community at large. To address this, we have founded a non-profit organization, All For Education, which will serve as a centralized online source for educational events, currently for Tucson, AZ. The website is similar to Wikipedia, where searching is easy and users can insert pertinent information and remove outdated events in a simple way.

The website is a search and navigation tool that parents, K-12 students, college students, and teachers can easily access to look for outreach information taking place throughout the UA campus and the rest of the community. In addition, the website will provide information about freely available online resources. The website directs users to the correct program or department where they could in turn access the program webpage for more information.

The tool is easy for outreach coordinators and partners to use in the absence of a permanent or accessible computer technology staff person. It will minimize the need for the number of hours a computer tech is necessary each month or year. The website uses the same software as Wikipedia which has been proven to provide a very simple way to insert and edit information. Thus, the content can easily be updated by the host program, which will have an account with a password that can be shared with some or all staff to allow access for updating and editing the site. Content can be added by just copying and pasting directly from the program/department pages and can be as extensive as the program wishes it to be.

The Wiki software is capable of recording who accesses each program page when changes are being made. History and old versions for backup are automatically kept for an extensive period of time, allowing to revert back to a previous version very easily.

For individuals who do not know exactly what they want, the search and navigation tool will help them find programs using a number of search criteria. For example, they can search for options as general as time of year events (irregardless of subject) or they can search for specific content opportunities.
